A pragmatic approach is adopted for pronunciation.
We do not aim to produce BBC newsreaders with a well modulated accent; rather, our aim is to is to ensure that Learners grow in confidence, communicating accurately and fluently in English. The challenge to the teacher is to ensure that Learners' spoken English is generally clear and unambiguous.
This approach raises several issues:

This approach raises several issues:
- Dialogues are used to introduce new language, including words and expressions, so that individuals can get a considerable amount of practice in producing correct English; this language can be practised and reinforced through choral and individual drilling
- The teacher has to make a well-informed decision about when and how to correct any problems individual Learners may have when pronouncing words or expressions.
