Learners have opportunities to listen to English from a variety of sources:
The challenge facing the teacher of Entry Zero ESOL is to ensure that the individual Learners become increasingly confident in understanding material that they hear as its complexity gradually increases.
Learners can also be actively encouraged to identify and use a number of phrases and expressions that can help them to ask other speakers of English:
Learners have opportunities to listen to English from a variety of sources:
- The teacher
- Other Learners in their class
- Other Learners they will meet elsewhere in the BELFAST Programme
- Ambient English in the highways and byeways of Belfast
- Class CDs of recorded dialogues, etc. (such as those that accompany the material produced by Frances Marnie)
- TV, radio, online, etc.
